Why Use Levelling Castors?

Levelling castors serve a dual purpose: whilst they can roll objects, they also have a mechanism that allows you to level the equipment to which they are attached manually.

How Levelling Castors Work

A levelling has a horizontal wheel situated above the wheel and a pad that presses against the ground or floor when the height of the castor is adjusted. The wheel is used to adjust the height of the levelling castor. You raise the castor by turning the wheel in one direction, and by turning it in the opposite direction, you lower it. If you have multiple levelling castors on an object, you can adjust their heights until it becomes level.

Reasons to Choose Levelling Castors

Levelling castors can help you stabilise and level objects that have been moved. Traditional castors can only roll an object, but you can roll and level it with levelling castors.

This eliminates the need for separate levelling feet. Levelling feet are height-adjustable pads that can also level objects, but you can achieve the same result with levelling castors.

Once you install levelling castors on an object, it will remain stationary when levelled. This is because the wheels will rise off the floor, and the pads will drop to the floor, preventing movement. Levelling castors are a great alternative to brakes to prevent objects from rolling after being moved, especially if the object will remain in one position for some time.
